Frequently Asked Questions

ITS Business Broadband Products

Who are ITS?

ITS is an alt-net operator that specialises in building bespoke connections to businesses within Britain.

What is FTTP?

FTTP is a high-speed internet connection that uses fibre-optic cables to deliver data directly from the exchange to a home, removing copper wiring entirely. It offers superior reliability and speeds up to 5000 Mbps (5 Gbps) on the ITS network. It is commonly known as "full-fibre".

What's the difference between Business Standard & Business Premium?

ITS Business Standard is only available within 50m of an existing ITS fibre node and only comes with standard care which means if a fibre fault occurs you may be waiting several days for a ITS engineer to come and fix your fault. ITS Business Premium comes with critical care where fibre faults are generally fixed the same day, has very low contention (5 to 1) and is available over a wider area than ITS Business Standard.

How much is installation?

Standard business installation is free on 24 month contracts - Non standard installations may be subject to additional charges. 12 month contracts will be subject to an installation charge of £100.00 inc. vat. Excess construction charges may apply for properties a long distance from the ITS fibre node, complex buildings or where traffic management is required.

How much is migration?

Migrations from another ITS provider are not currently possible. You will need to get a new physical line installed which should be quick as most of the infrastructure is already in place.

Do I get a free router?

We include a router with all 24 month contract packages. If you choose a 12 month package then you will need to supply your own router or purchase an Asus or TP-Link router during the ordering process.

What speed do I need?

Small business with only a couple of light users may only need a 80 Mbit/s service speed. For most businesses 550 or 950 Mbit/s service speed is recommended. If your company has a lot of employees or is frequently downloading & uploading large documents (videos, datasets etc) then 1700Mbit/s or greater service speeds are recommended.

How long does service activation take?

All ITS services are subject to survey. Lead times are typically 30-60 days depending on distance from fibre node and complexity of the installation.

Can I cancel my order?

You may cancel your order free of charge up-to 1 working day before survey. After survey a £600.00 inc. vat cancellation fee will apply - unless excess construction charges apply and you reject those charges.

What happens if I cancel or migrate my service before the end of contracted period?

If you cancel or migrate your service before your contract end date then early termination fees of 75% of the monthly rental will apply.

Where is ITS available?

ITS powered services are currently available in the following areas:

Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Warrington, Manchester, Wilmslow and Handforth, Tameside, Stockport, Bury, Glossop, Blackpool, Preston, Chorley, Blackburn & Accrington, Wigan, Burnley, Oldham, Sheffield, Leeds, Birmingham, Lye, Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Burton upon Trent, Nottingham, Derby, Ashfield, Mansfield and Sutton, Lincoln, Leicester, Scunthorpe, Ilkeston, Newark, Bristol, Gloucester, Hereford, Cheltenham, Brighton, Brentwood, Basildon, Rayleigh, Grays, Mayfair, Poplar, Brixton, Islington, Faraday, Marylebone to Lower Hollaway, London Goodmayes, Kingsbury/Harrow, Dartford, Twickenham, Hayes, Bromley, Golders Green, Wembley, Enfield, Croydon, Deptford, Putney, Greenwich, Stratford, Watford, Harlesden
