Frequently Asked Questions

Freedom Fibre Home Broadband Products

Who are Freedom Fibre?

Freedom Fibre are a UK alt-net provider based in Manchester serving around 400,000 properties.

What is FTTP?

FTTP is a high-speed internet connection that uses fibre-optic cables to deliver data directly from the exchange to a home, removing copper wiring entirely. It offers superior reliability and speeds up to 2,500 Mbps (2.5 Gbps) on the Freedom Fibre network. It is commonly known as "full-fibre".

How much is installation?

Standard installation is free on 24 month contracts - Non standard installations may be subject to additional charges. 1 month & 12 month contracts will be subject to an installation charge of £100.00 inc. vat

How much is migration?

Migrating from another Freedom Fibre based provider is free of charge on all packages.

Do you include a router?

We include a preconfigured router with all 24 month contract packages. If you choose a 1 month or 12 month package then you will need to supply your own router or purchase an Asus or TP-Link router during the ordering process.

Can I choose a different router?

With our 24 month contract packages which have an Asus router you may choose an alternative during the ordering process, exact upgrade charge will depend on which router & package you choose.

Can I use my own router?

Yes you can use your own router but you must ensure it is capable of handling the service and also know how to configure it. We will provide you with PPPoE username & password shortly after your order has been placed with Netomnia.

What speed do I need?

Small business with only a couple of light users may only need 160 Mbit/s service speed. For most businesses 550 or 1200 Mbit/s service speed is recommended. If your company is frequently downloading & uploading large documents, videos or datasets then the 2300Mbit/s service speed is recommended.

How long does service activation take?

A minimum 10 working day lead time applies for all orders. Larger properties and more complex installations may take much longer.

What happens at end of contracted period?

A month before the end of the contracted period we will email you to advise you that your contract is about to end. At this point you may extend your contract using our customer portal (with the rate being the current advertised rate for your package) or change to a different package. If you take no action then your monthly rental will be changed to our current 1 month contract rate.

What happens if I cancel or migrate my service before the end of contracted period?

If you cancel or migrate your service before your contract end date then early termination fees of 75% of the monthly rental will apply.
